Newell Dean Fuhriman
RIVER HEIGHTS, UTAH: Newell Dean Fuhriman, 86, of River Heights, died Monday, July 11, 2011 at his home .
He was born on March 3, 1925 in Providence, Utah a son of LaVon and Mamie Johnson Fuhriman. He married Anna Fonnesbeck on September 1, 1947. She passed away in 1999.
He proudly served in the US Navy from 1943 to 1946 aboard the US LST 696 in the Pacific, crossing the equator 18 times. He received six bronze stars for meritorious service.
Dean was a successful ad respected farmer in Ridgedale (Pocatello Valley) Idaho, where he built upon and enlarged his grandfather’s homestead farm.
He is survived by a daughter, Leslie F. and Don Flaherty, Smithfield; two sons, Scott Fuhriman, Ridgedale, Idaho; Michael and Allene Fuhriman, Elwood, Utah, 12 grandchildren, 11 great grandchildren, three sisters, Mary Erickson, Gayle Green and Rhonda Farnsworth. He was preceded in death by his wife, Anna, a son Neil and a grandson Dusty Dean Fuhriman.

Graveside services will be held Friday at 12:00 pm in the Providence City Cemetery with a military tribute by the American Legion. There will be a viewing Thursday evening from 6-8 pm at the Allen-Hall Mortuary. In lieu of flowers please take a friend to lunch.
