Niel Arden Frank, a talented artist, and a father and grandfather, passed away unexpectedly on June 5, 2025 just one day before his birthday, at the age of 67, following a car accident. Niel was born on June 6, 1957 in the old Logan hospital. He grew up in Hyrum, Utah, the son of Louis Arden Frank and Diane Nielsen Frank. Niel graduated from Sky View high school and LDS seminary in 1975.
Niel dedicated two years to missionary service for The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints serving in the Northern Italy Milan Mission in 1976 speaking the Italian language, a period that shaped his early life and which he would speak of often. Upon returning home, he married Chrysanne Olsen in 1979 where they resided in Tremonton, Utah and had two daughters. Niel and Chrysanne later divorced. He spent years contributing to the Thiokol team and later found a passion for the open road as a semi-truck driver for Knight Trucking. He loved regaling us all with the Tales of The Road, in which he would share some of the bizarre happenings he had come across. Beyond his work, Niel's true gift lay in his art. He found joy in sketching, often doodling on any available surface, and was known for his breathtaking wildlife paintings that captured the beauty of nature.
He leaves behind a loving family, including his daughters, Toni Simper and Stephanie (Jared) Tatro, and his cherished grandchildren: Wyatt, Emma, Olivia, Raleigh, Sophia, and Logan. Niel is also survived by his siblings, Rochelle Frank, John (Susan) Frank, Jill (Eric) Hunsaker, Larita (Bryan) Lay, and Lynette (Ryan) Rawlins, as well as many nieces and nephews who will miss him dearly.
A private graveside memorial will be held for family and close friends at a later date. The family wishes to express their profound appreciation to Timothy Hall and family, whose friendship and care provided so much comfort to Niel in his final years.
