Norma S. Godfrey

Ogden – Norma S. Godfrey “Grandma Logan”, 94, passed away of natural causes on November 23, 2011.

Born September 26, 1917 in Cedarville, Idaho, to Erastus and Hannah May Schvaneveldt. Married Earland Dewain Godfrey, June 28, 1934. He died April 7, 1979.

She was an active and faithful member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints serving many years in the Logan Temple. She was tender hearted, and tears came easily to her as she expressed her feelings. She showed her love and compassion for others by spending many hours making soft, comfortable homemade quilts. She made more chocolate “no-bake” cookies for her grandkids than any grandma ever. Her pies were delicious, made with love and attention to detail. She was also a die-hard Utah Jazz fan, watching nearly every game for over 25 years. She talked about the players like they were her own grandkids and thought Andre Kirilenko and C.J. Miles were “such cute guys”.

Survived by son Kent (Elsie) Godfrey of Redmund, Washington; daughters Loralee (Jeff) Bingham of West Haven, Utah and Joy Izatt of South Odgen, Utah; sister LaRee Bauerele of Roy, Utah; grandchildren, Blake (Sissy) Izatt of Bountiful, Utah, Tim (Stacey) Izatt of Herriman, Utah, Matt (Pam) Izatt of Herriman, Utah, Amie (Jay) Wheeler of Syracuse, Utah, Ryan (April) Bingham of McKinney, Texas, Adam (Shalisa) Bingham of McGuire AFB in New Jersey, Maria (Nick) Thompson of Syracuse, Utah, Kip (Chantel) Bingham of Clearfield, Utah, Alyse (Glenn) Loomis of Mount Vernon, Washington, David Godfrey of Seattle, Washington and 26 great grandchildren. Preceded in death by husband, Dewain Godfrey, daughter, Jolene Godfrey and son-in-law, Doug Izatt.

The family would like to thank those that lovingly cared for “Grandma Logan” as she endured some difficult health issues toward the end of her life.

A viewing will be held on Thursday, December 1, 2011 from 12:30 p.m. – 1:30 p.m. at Allen- Hall Mortuary, 34 East Center Street, Logan, Utah.
