Paul Dean Clayburn of Providence passed away on February 14, 2026, at the age of 76. After a hard-fought battle due to complications from surgery, he was able to say goodbye to his loved ones and pass on peacefully in Murray, UT.
Paul is survived by his wife, Verda Virginia of Providence; children Valena (Val) Parkinson of Logan; Chad (Amelia) Stillings of Layton; Curtis (Jessica) Clayburn of Logan; Kevin (Chelsie) Clayburn of Logan; Cory (Ally) Clayburn of Ogden; and siblings Pamela McDonald of Heber City and Scott (Julie) Clayburn of Charleston. He is also survived by 16 grandchildren and 12 great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents; grandson, Jeremy; and his siblings Alan, Linda, and Jane.
Paul was born on October 19, 1949, in Heber City to Theron David and Cora Henline Clayburn. He graduated from Wasatch High School in 1968. He earned his associate’s degree in business from Dixie College in 1970 and continued his education at Utah State University. Paul married Verda Virginia Bindrup on March 17th, 1978, in Elko, Nevada. They were later sealed for time and all eternity in the Logan Temple on August 15, 1997. After marrying, they lived in Hyrum, UT for 35 years and raised two stepchildren and three sons. In retirement, Paul and Virginia made their home in Providence.
Always a tireless worker, Paul began working for Pepsico and earned sales and service awards as a Branch Manager. He instilled in his children the rewards and responsibilities of running a business while establishing his own. He later continued a successful career in route management and service with Frito Lay, where he retired in 2015. Paul was a man of few words, but displayed his character through hard work, commitment and pride in everything he pursued.
Paul loved his family deeply and enjoyed camping, spending time outdoors with his beloved dogs, and supporting his wife and children while always placing their desires before his own. Later in life, Paul took immense pleasure in supporting all his grandchildren and great grandchildren in their sporting events, theatrical productions, and performances. Rain or shine, Grandpa Clayburn was always there cheering and encouraging their efforts. He was extremely proud of each and every one of them.
Paul possessed an enormous heart. He was always generous with his service to others while making sure everyone was cared for and felt included. He was a passionate supporter of his Utah State Aggies and many fond memories were made while supporting athletic events with his family and friends. Paul was an active and dedicated member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints. He fulfilled many callings and took comfort in the Plan of Salvation, knowing that he would be reunited one day with his loved ones.
A viewing will be held Thursday, February 26th from 5:00 to 7:00 PM at Allen-Hall Mortuary, 34 East Center Street Logan, UT. Funeral services will be Friday, February 27th at 11:00 AM following a viewing at 9:30 AM in the Shoreline Ward of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints, 465 N 300 E, Providence, Utah. Interment will take place at the Hyrum City Cemetery.
The family would like to express their heartfelt gratitude to the many doctors, nurses, and caregivers of Intermountain Medical Center in Murray, UT. Their kindness and comfort during Paul’s final weeks are greatly appreciated.
