Peggy Lou Tueller

March 14, 1934 — October 26, 2025

Logan

Peggy Lou Tueller, a true bon vivant, lived life to the fullest. Born and raised on a farm in Geneva, Idaho, to Lou and Margaret Bischoff Tueller, she moved with her sister Carolyn to Logan after the untimely death of their father. After graduating from Logan High School and Utah State University, Peggy began her career in Washington, D.C., but her love of the performing arts soon drew her to New York City- a place she called home for nearly 40 years.

In New York, Peggy thrived. Her passion for music, especially opera, led to a long and fulfilling career as an administrator for the Metropolitan Opera and the Manhattan School of Music. She built lifelong friendships through her work and her travels, exploring nearly every corner of the globe with her many companions.

In 1996, Peggy fulfilled her dream of returning to Cache Valley when she became managing director of the Ellen Eccles Theatre. She dedicated herself to the arts community, coordinated a children’s opera series with Utah Festival Opera, led the Logan Rotary Club, and received Utah State University’s Women Over 65 Achievement Award in 2002.

A gracious hostess, Peggy loved to entertain guests, and her warmth and wit shone at her dinner parties and “noshie” hours.

She adored her sister Carolyn, whom she called the light of her life, and was a beloved aunt to Heidi Lewis Raven (Brian, Ella, and Carter) and Rhett Lewis (Whitney Umino). She is also survived by many Bischoff cousins who loved her deeply.

A private service will be held. Donations in Peggy’s memory may be made to the Ellen Eccles Theatre and Cache Valley Center for the Arts (43 S Main Street, Logan, UT 84321, info@cachearts.org).
