May 8, 1933 — September 30, 2025

Logan

Robert Lewis Hendricks passed away on September 30, 2025 in the McKay- Dee Hospital in Ogden from injuries sustained in a fall.

Bob was born May 8, 1933 in Salt Lake City Utah, the son of Ron L. Hendricks and Mabel Fulkerson. He grew up principally in Salt Lake, but enjoyed spending time with his cousins in Cache Valley in his early years. He attended East High School in Salt Lake, and graduated from the University of Utah in 1955 with degrees in Accounting and Air Science. He married Beth Adell Lawrence June 10, 1954 in the Salt Lake Temple. They were blessed with eight children: Linda Beth, Laurie Ann, Layna Marie, Robert David, James Lawrence, Steven Ron, Brian Lewis, and Karin Sue.

After graduation, Bob was commissioned a Second Lieutenant in the U.S. Air Force. He served in Tokyo, Japan from 1955 to 1957. Upon completing his Air Force commitment, he began employment as an accountant, but soon became involved in management in the plumbing supply business where he spent his career. Bob and Beth established a home in the South Cottonwood area of Salt Lake, where they lived until 1970 when they moved to Cache Valley to open Bridgerland Supply. They worked side-by-side in the business until 1989 at which time the business was purchased by Ferguson Supply, a national supply house chain. Bob continued there in the position of salesman and trainer until his retirement in 1995. Bob was associated with a number of civic organizations, and served with Kiwanis International as president of the Logan Kiwanis club and as Area Lieutenant Governor.

At age 17, Bob joined The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, and from that time forward was active in many positions, including Bishop, Stake high council, and other ward and stake positions. He especially loved working with young men. Following his retirement, Bob and Beth served a mission in Sydney Australia, and later in the California San Fernando Mission. They served as ordinance workers in the Logan Temple from 2000 until 2015.

Bob loved music, and could usually be found humming or singing a popular tune. Bob and Beth sang together often, something they both greatly enjoyed. He also loved singing in choir, and participated in several choral organizations, including the Northern Utah Choral Society.

His other avocation was golf, and he was a member of the Logan Golf and Country Club for over 40 years.

His greatest joy was his family. He was proud of them and their accomplishments, especially for their love for the gospel and their Heavenly Father.

Bob was preceded in death by his parents, his brother Richard, daughter Layna Marie and grandsons Benjamin Lewis Hendricks and Robert Wayman.

He is survived by his wife Beth, his daughters Linda (Paul) Wayman, Laurie (Bryce) Fifield, Karin Hendricks (Tawnya Smith), and his sons Robert (Susan Zwick), James (Julie Murdock), Steven (Tammie Hoth and Brian (Kim Bailey)-- 26 living grandchildren and 53 great-grandchildren, and by his sisters, Marianne Hendricks and Dorothy (Patrick) Gallagher.
