It is always difficult saying goodbye to someone we love and cherish. Robert Waddell Tingey passed away from his earthly home on January 9, 2023 while in the IHC Hospital in Logan, Utah. He was a patient in multiple hospitals for 14 months after receiving a broken neck from a fall.
Robert and his brother Richard were born July 26, 1963, in Minneapolis, MN to Dr. Vance B. Tingey and Jennifer Waddell Tingey. From Minnesota they moved to Seattle, WA and then made North Logan, Utah their home. He was an active member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints, Rob served in the Pohnpei Micronesia Mission where learn to love the people there and made many friends while serving. Rob served in many callings including Sunday School Teacher, Primary Teacher and as a scout leader.
He married his sweetheart Mary Ruth Jones on May 11, 2002. They were sealed in the Logan LDS Temple on March 11, 2005. They were blessed to have a son Nicholas to complete their happy home.
He worked at HyClone/ThermoFisher as a Shipping and Inventory Supervisor as well as a Project Manager. He was a volunteer for the North Logan Fire Department as a Captain, Fire Fighter/EMT. Survivors include his wife, Mary Jones Tingey. (North Logan), son Richard Nicholas, (North Logan) sister Gayle (Caldwell, ID) , Julie (Brian) Morgan (AZ), Craig Tingey, (Rebecca) No Ogden, Rachelle Tingey (Minneapolis, MN), Scott Tingey, (Kimberly) (Farmington), Caren Tingey, (Shane) (Mapleton), Cathy Tingey, Step Mom (Riverton), Mother-in-Law, Sharon Lee Jones, (Malad) He was preceded in death by his dad, mother, brothers, Father-in-Law Stephen E Jones.
There will be a viewing at the Allen Mortuary of North Logan on Monday, January 16, 2023, from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p,m., and Tuesday at 10:00 a.m. with funeral services on Tuesday, January 17, at 11:00 a.m. at the Allen Mortuary, 420 East 1800 North , North Logan, Utah 84341. He will then be taken to the Malad City Cemetery, where he will be laid to rest.
