Ronald Dean Milligan, 68, passed away unexpectedly with his family at his bedside on June 30, 2026, due to complications from pulmonary embolisms. Ron was born in Logan, Utah, on October 3, 1957, to Horace James (H.J.) and Edna May (Prigmore) Milligan. He was the youngest of seven children.
Ron graduated from Logan High School in 1975 and afterward served a full-time mission for The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in the New Zealand Wellington Mission. Upon returning home, he became a licensed landscape contractor and operated Custom Landscape with his brother, Kent.
He met the love of his life, Jodie Maxine Bishop, on a blind date set up by her father and his brother-in-law, Reed Conlin. On March 12, 1983, they were sealed for time and all eternity in the Logan Utah Temple. They made their home in Bountiful, Utah, where they welcomed their five children, and later moved to Cove, Utah, where he owned and operated Cove Meadow Farms. Ron had a passion for plants that began at a young age in his father's greenhouse. He took great pride in his career, where he also taught his children the value of hard work. He loved skiing, boating, hiking, and being in nature, but above all, he enjoyed spending time with his family.
Ron was a dedicated member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and served faithfully in all of his callings. His opportunity to serve in the Florida Orlando Mission with his wife was shortened by illness, but his dedication to the Lord never wavered.
He is survived by his wife, Jodie; his children, Daniel (Camille) Milligan, Holly (BJ) Christiansen, Benjamin Milligan, Andrea (Nathanial) Nelson, and Lauren (Taylor) Christensen; and his thirteen grandchildren, Cieli, Lane, Reese, Kai, Dominic, Knox, Wilensca, Jay, Woodenjy, Isley, Oliver, Van, and Claire. He is also survived by his siblings; Jean (Ron) Malouf, Marilyn (Gary) Adams, Kathy Conlin, Marsha (Ralph) Walker, Kent (Debbie) Milligan and brother-in-law Jeff Bishop.
He was preceded in death by his parents, H.J. and Edna; his parents-in-law, Bill and Anita Bishop; his brother, James Keith; and his brother-in-law, Reed Conlin.
A viewing will be held on Sunday, July 5th, from 5:00 to 7:00 pm at Allen-Hall Mortuary (34 East Center Street, Logan, Utah 84321). Funeral services will be held on Monday, July 6th, at 11:00 am at the Cove Ward Building (12832 North 1200 East, Cove, Utah 84320) with a viewing prior to the services from 9:30 to 10:30 am. Graveside services and interment will follow at the Richmond City Cemetery.
The family is deeply grateful for the outpouring of love, prayers, and support from family and neighbors during this difficult time. A special thank you to the staff at Logan Regional Hospital and Intermountain Medical Center for their compassionate care during his final days.
