It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of our Wife, Mother, Grandmother and Great-Grandmother Rosemary Schultz 71, after a long battle with cancer on September 19, 2025.
Rosemary was born to Ned and Carole Whiting in Logan, UT while her father was attending Utah State University. Their family expanded while moving around for her father’s Air Force career before ultimately settling down in Bountiful, UT. Rosemary would fondly recall that while growing up in Bountiful she would help her grandfather sell vegetables at his farm stand every summer and at his Christmas tree stand every winter. Rosemary graduated from Viewmont High School in 1972, and then went on to graduate Cum Laude with a bachelors degree in Home Economics and Family Consumer Education from Utah State University.
While attending Utah State University, Rosemary married her high school sweetheart Oscar Schultz for time and all eternity on September 6, 1974 in the Salt Lake City LDS Temple. Rosemary and Oscar settled in Logan, UT, where she was blessed with the ability to be a stay at home mom to their 9 children. Rosemary loved to garden and was a voracious reader, something she passed along to her children and grandchildren.
Rosemary was an active volunteer in her community, working with many organizations including, volunteering with the Girl Scouts, starting as a troop leader before quickly becoming the Service Unit Director for all of Cache, Box Elder and Rich counties, a position that she held for over 25 years, Primary Children’s Hospital, Boy Scouts of America, the Whittier Center, Daughters of the Utah Pioneers, and many more. She was an active member in her LDS ward and stake, where she enjoyed various callings before her passing.
In 2015 Rosemary was diagnosed with breast cancer, but went into remission after a year long fight. Sadly the cancer returned in 2022. When asked what she was most proud in her life, she said she has always been the most proud of her husband, children, grandchildren and great grand children. Her greatest joy in life was being able to spend time with her family.
Rosemary is proceeded in death by her parents, brother Scott Whiting, and grandson Owen Ellis. She is survived by her husband of 51 years Oscar Schultz, children Jessica (James) Lemon of Syracuse, Ut. Kamilla (Jeremy) Kaiser of Kemmerer WY. James (Bonnie) Schultz of San Antonio TX, Christopher Schultz of Logan UT, Susanna (Karl) Christensen of Logan UT, Jonathan (Rebekah) Schultz of Hyrum, UT Alexander (Andrea) Schultz of Brigham City UT.
