Rylan Elliot Murray

November 8, 2021 — January 16, 2024

Lewiston, Utah

Rylan Elliot Murray, 2, passed peacefully at home on January 16, 2024. He was born on November 8, 2021, in Logan, Utah to Landon and Megan Murray. He joined his crew of brothers Ramie and Riggs, with his little brother Rowan joining later. Rylan lived a full and happy life despite its many challenges. He was born with a genetic mutation, KCNT1, which caused him to have a very severe epilepsy disorder. Despite what life threw at him, he always found a reason to smile. He started out in life a fussy little guy that turned into the happiest soul you could meet. He would have a terrible seizure day and still come out of it smiling. His smile was pure heaven. He could change the mood instantly with that smile. He had the craziest white blonde hair you could find and baby blues that could suck you in. You could always catch him either smiling or silently judging you. He was born to bring such light into our lives and he accomplished it in a monumental way. His physical challenges didn't stop him from wanting to be a part of whatever was going on. He loved hearing his brother and cousins play.  You could find him being doted over by his family, especially his little cousins. He found so much happiness in being with his family. His favorite person was his grandma Paulette. He expected her to answer his FaceTime calls and if she didn't, she could expect the cold shoulder when she called back. He would get so excited when she came to visit and seemed to only enjoy baths when she gave them to him.  His brother Riggs loved helping take care of him. Riggs always wanted to be involved with Rylan's feedings and meds. He was the best big brother Rylan could ask for. Rylan enjoyed playing, and you could often find him being a one-man band with bells attached to one hand and a maraca in the other. He loved playing with anything that made a crinkly noise. He found so much joy in life. He was the bright light that came to heal our hearts, and he did just that. His mission in life was to spread joy, and we will forever feel the void of his larger-than-life spirit.

He was preceded in death by his big brother Ramie, another KCNT1 warrior. He is survived by his parents, Landon and Megan, his two brothers, Riggs and Rowan, grandparents, Tom and Paula Murray, Richard and Paulette Allred, great grandma Joyce Murray, many aunts, uncles, cousins, and other extended family.

We would like to thank his specialists, therapists, and amazing hospice team. We couldn't have asked for better people to help us take care of our little boy. Thank you for being a part of his life and ours. We have gained so many friends throughout the years.

To our KCNT1 community, while our journey comes to an end, we will continue to raise awareness and fight for a better future. Your kids deserve the world.

There will be a graveside service on Monday, January 22nd at 1 pm at the Lewiston City cemetery. His celebration of life will come at a later date, so watch for those details. The graveside service will be livestreamed, and if you aren’t able to watch it live, it will be available to watch later.

In lieu of flowers, we ask that you donate to the KCNT1 Epilepsy foundation, https://kcnt1epilepsy.org/  in honor of Rylan
