Theron Olsen

Theron J. Olsen passed away peacefully at home Wednesday, October 19th 2011 surrounded by his family. Theron was born to James H. and Malinda Olsen on June 7th, 1932. He grew up with nine siblings in College Ward, and graduated in 1950 from South Cache High School. Theron served 2 years in the United States army stationed in Korea during the Korean War.
Theron married Margie Groll on Aug 17th, 1956 in Randolf, Utah and they were later sealed in the Logan LDS temple. They have lived in River Heights, Utah for 54 years. Together they raised three children, Rick T., (Cathie) Olsen, Jill (Michael) Jorgensen, and Jamie Benson. Theron has 12 grandchilderen and 7 great grandchildren, all of whom truly cherished their time with him.
Theron worked construction for many years with LeGrand Johnson Construction, and later worked and retired from Nucor Steel. Both of which he made many lasting friendships.
Theron enjoyed his horses, camping, and fishing. He also enjoyed working along side his son and grandson Jake. He was very gentle and kind. He had a great sense of humor and loved to laugh and tease with his family.
Funeral services will be held Monday, October 24th 2011at 12:00 noon at the River Heights Stake Center, 800 South 600 East, Riverheights UT. Visitations will be held from 10:30-11:30 prior to the service. Visitations will also be held from 6-8 pm Sunday, October 23rd at the Allen Hall Mortuary, 34 East Center Street Logan, UT.
