Tokelau Lealiki was born on April 30, 1980, in Ha’alaufuli, Vava’u, Tonga. He was baptized as a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in his hometown, where he began building a strong foundation of faith and community. He attended Saineha High School in Vava’u, Tonga.
On October 18, 1994, Tokelau moved to the United States with his mother and siblings, settling in Logan, Utah, alongside extended family. Throughout his life, he was known for his ability to connect with others and was welcomed into many homes and families who loved and respected him deeply. He spent time in various places, including Colton, California with his brother Pila, the Bay Area with his Uncle Heneli Lealiki, and Oakland, California with the Latu family.
On July 10, 2011, Tokelau married the love of his life, Elisiva Taufa. Together they built a family rooted in love and resilience, eventually making their home in Anchorage, Alaska.
In October 2025, Tokelau returned to Logan, Utah, to spend meaningful time with his mother’s sisters and loved ones, where he shared his final wishes. He later returned to Anchorage, Alaska, where on April 5, 2026, he peacefully returned to his Father in Heaven.
Tokelau was a man who was deeply loved by many. His life was marked by his strong connections to family, his faith, and the many relationships he built along the way.
He was preceded in death by his beloved daughter, Elisiva; his mother, Luisa Pauni; his paternal grandparents, Kelekolio Lealiki and Tonga Maile; his maternal grandparents, Sione Pauni and Siu Latu; and his sisters, Fifita Pauni and Siosiana Lealiki.
He is survived by his loving wife, Elisiva Taufa; his children, Luisa, Funga Pousini, Ailini, Tonga, Tokelau, and Maudevance; his father, Okusitino Lealiki; and his siblings, Pila, Tonga, Kelekolio, Tuakalau, Mele, Whitni, and Ostin. He also leaves behind many uncles, aunties, extended family members, and friends who will continue to honor his memory.
Tokelau’s life was a testament to love, family, and faith. He will be deeply missed and forever remembered.
