Wallace (Wally) Conrad Anderson passed away on October 23, 2025 at the age of 77 in Logan, Utah after a long battle with Pulmonary Fibrosis. He was born on April 2, 1948 to Gilbert (Bud) Anderson and Josephine (Jo) Anderson in Logan Utah.
Wally grew up in Logan Utah graduating from Logan High in 1966. He then served a two-year mission in Norway for the church of Latter-Day Saints. After returning he then attended Utah State University earning a degree in Fashion Merchandising.
Wally worked hard his entire life and made many lifelong friends. Many of which he considered as family. As a young man Wally worked at Wuthrich’s Green House, then for JCPenney at many locations from Logan, Provo, and then the Salt Lake City Cottonwood Mall for many years. First as an associate, then to advancing to a Senior Merchandise Manager. He moved on to working with Morris Air, then to Southwest Airlines which he retired from. He also worked at Liberty Park Concessions and Amusement Park as a Manager, Weinstocks, and finally for the University of Utah Kingsbury Hall as a House Manager and Guest Relations Coordinator. This was his favorite job he ever held and was a highlight of his life. Wally loved the Arts and the theater; this allowed him to be part of it. He met many amateur performers and well-known stars from around the world. He got to know them while driving them around Salt Lake City to shop around, seeing the sights that Utah had to offer and even just to grab a bite to eat. He retired from Kingsbury Hall in 2014. Always willing to help a friend he also worked on the Utah Jr. Miss Program for several years.
Wally was always up for an adventure. He loved a good laugh and always was in for a fun time with friends, and especially his family that he loved deeply. If one thing could top the Arts and Theater for enjoyment in Wally’s life, it would be traveling. He loved seeing the world and experiencing all that it had to offer. He had friends from all over the world and kept in contact with them, making sure they knew he still loved and thought of them always. He loved all animals, especially cats.
Wally was a loving son, big brother, uncle, friend and mentor. He cared for so many people, he loved freely, gave his time and energy to those that needed him, and was just an all-around great person. The best description was given from a very special friend of his, “He was there for us when a lot of other people and family had given up on them.”
Wally was preceded in death by his Parents Bud and Jo, his niece Analee Christensen along with his beloved cats V and Katie.
He is survived by his sisters: Annette Anderson, Linda (Brad) Christensen.
Nieces and nephews: Lisa (Eric) Maughan, Michelle (Phillip) Jensen, Josh Christensen, Carson (Rachael) Crockett, Taylor Maughan, Gage Maughan and Annjolina Jenson.
Matt Newman and Danny Ramirez whom he considered as his sons, along with many special friends, including his cats Linda and Haddi.
Very Special thanks to Matt Newman for helping take care of Wally these past few years while he battled many health issues. To Matt Vance and his family for making him feel important, needed and thought of.
