Betty Andrews Cook

August 19, 1936 — February 10, 2022

Betty was born in Fairview, Idaho, on August 19, 1936, to Darwin States Andrews and Elizabeth Jones Andrews. She was the third of eight children. Her siblings are Darwin Andrews (deceased), Bonne (Leon) Burningham (deceased), Irene Andrews (deceased), Eugene (Velma, deceased) Andrews (deceased), Rebecca Andrews (deceased), Ronnie Andrews (deceased), and Gayll (Bobby) Maes.of St. George, Utah. She spent most of her childhood in Fairview. When she was a teenager, her family moved to Salt Lake City for a brief time, then moved to Preston, Idaho. She met her sweetheart, Dewey LaVor Cook, and they were married in Preston on February 4, 1954.

Betty and LaVor lived in Paradise, Utah, for a short time, then moved to Logan where they lived the rest of their lives. Betty's favorite job was being a wife and mother to their 4 children. When the kids were in school, Betty began working. Most of that time, she was a school lunch cook. She spent many years at Logan High.

Betty was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints. She had a deep and quiet faith. She served in several organizations of the church throughout her life. She especially enjoyed serving in the temple cafeteria.

Betty had a deep love of family, friends, and Ovaltine. She always loved a noisy house full of happy sounds and smiling faces. She loved road trips. Vacation always started when you got in the car and the journey was the destination. She loved spotting animals along the way and watching her birds at home. She loved to feed company. You never left her home hungry. Full belly, heart, and soul. She spent countless hours visiting with friends and family, especially those that could not come to her. Always ready to share a hug. Her love was not contained in her diminutive stature, it reached to the sky. Horizon to horizon.

She was preceded in death by her husband, her parents, step-parents Gene Johnson and Lela Andrews, siblings Darwin, Bonne, Irene, Eugene, Becky, and Ronnie. She is survived by her children: Sue Ann (Bradford) Cannon, Vicky (Kevin) Dodge, Brian (Nicole) Cook, and Darin Cook, 20 grandchildren, and 31 great-grandchildren, her sister and brother-in-law Gayll and Bobby, and brother-in-law Leon.
